Treatment-resistant depression: Time to consider folate supplementation
KEY POINT
In patients with major depressive disorder who had incomplete or no response to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) therapy, addition of L-methylfolate 15 mg daily led to improved response rate and increased degree of change in depression symptom scores as compared with placebo.
