High-potency statins linked to acute kidney injury
KEY POINT
Individuals taking high-potency statins (defined as daily dose of at least 10 mg rosuvastatin [Crestor—AstraZeneca], 20 mg atorvastatin, or 40 mg simvastatin) were more likely to be hospitalized for acute kidney injury within 120 days of starting treatment than low-potency statin users.
