Immunizing Pharmacists SIG Community


Mission

The APhA-APPM Immunizing Pharmacists Special Interest Group (SIG) provides an opportunity for leadership development and involvement of immunizing pharmacists in the Academy’s policy, advocacy, and awards processes.


Purpose

The purpose of the APhA-APPM Immunizing Pharmacists SIG provides members with leadership development support, as well as opportunities to Engage in the policy, education, and awards and recognition processes important to immunizing pharmacists.

Communications Committee

Chair(s): Sheena Patel, Jessica Hinson

Disseminate information and facilitate discussions amongst SIG members related to immunizations and SIG related activities on the APhA ENGAGE platform. Recognize members of the community for immunization efforts.

  1. Create a regular posting schedule for the Engage community on various immunization topics and cases to generate discussion and Engagement among SIG members.
  2. Continue Invisible Superheros recognition program in order to recognize SIG members at regular intervals (at least quarterly) throughout the year.
  3. Promote immunization related awards (APhA and broader scope) and consider nominating SIG members for recognition.

Education Committee

Chair(s): Julio Rebolledo, Sheila Seed

Disseminate information and facilitate discussions amongst SIG members related to immunizations and SIG related activities on the APhA ENGAGE platform. Recognize members of the community for immunization efforts.

Professional Affairs Committee

Chair(s): Michelle Jeon, Ashley Hannings

Identify and address the educational needs of the SIG membership related to immunizations through creation of learning resources such as continuing education, resource guides, etc.
